We had a great first day at school! We practiced procedures, read stories, brainstormed ways we can be safe and kind to one another, and played with magic play dough! We even made a card for Mom and Dad for when they miss us too much! This week will primarily focus on procedures, manners, and getting to know one another. The students in our class are kind, loving, and smart! Specials will begin on Wednesday. There will be a newsletter that goes home tomorrow night telling you what special to prepare for!  You have signed a photo release for Pinecrest, but not one for me yet. Look for that this week! Until then, here is a picture of my nephews as first graders. 

Hello!

I thought I would share a little bit about myself with you! My name is Sarah Ter Avest and I will be your first grade teacher! I have uploaded some pictures of my life so you can get to know me a little better! I have been married for 9 years to my high school sweetheart Tony. We are avid animal lovers and have 3 beautiful Siberian Huskies, Leiya, Roxy and Sebastian, and 2 cats, Bailey (Bubba) and Twitch! Fun Fact: Mr. Ter Avest (Tony) took my last name when we got married! 

For fun, I LOVE to travel! I lived in Ireland for awhile and hope that I will be able to return there soon! I also like to ride quads! Every year, my family and I go camping in the mountains. We stay for a whole week and ride four wheelers in the mountains, roast marshmallows, tell campfire stories, and watch deer and moose! Last year, we saw a Mama fox and her babies! 

We are avid Disney LOVERS! We are annual pass holders and try to go as often as the checkbook will allow. I love to pin trade, collect vinylmations, eat yummy food, and take pictures with my favorite characters. I will squeal with delight and wait in line for hours to get pictures taken with Stitch, Minnie Mouse, and Merida (who in my opinion is the best princess!)

Fun Fact: I rode my bike 75 miles this year in support of the Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation. I raised over $1000.00 to help kids with cancer! I had to train hard and ride my bike every day to prepare for the event.
